And Yet Another Nine Patch - 27" x 28"
___________________
I love those 9 patches and each new book I investigate seems to give me notions that become practice pieces.
Black & White #1 - 18.25" x 21.25"
Black & White #3 - 20.5" x 30"
Black & White #4 - 22.5" x 18"
Black & White #2 - 19.5" x 21"
Black and White Series #X - 23" x 21"
This series kept going and going, and I’m sure I’ll add to it in the very near future. The challenge I gave myself was combining at first small units of color, then each piece after would contain more colors. There will be more.

Black and Yellow with Stitching - 18" x 22.5"

This quilt is one made for our small group, double challenge. First was black and white with one color; when finished someone suggested we do something else to any challenge piece. The blanket stitch in so many directions kept me busy for a time.
Blue Woman on a Red Day with Cat - 20" x 27.5"

A strange twin to the doll, "Changing Medication,” when modern medicine took over my life temporarily, included several doses of Picasso.
Tango Tempo - 21" x 33"

This was a challenge from a gallery concerning music and art. I had just read an article on Klee and his respect for music and how it entered his work. Painting the background was the most time consuming, but the embellishments nearly fell out of my fingers to the painting. It hangs over my computer table so I can see even more color than appears on my monitor.
Compressed Nine Patch - 29.5" x 34"

I cannot resist a new technique. Nine patch titles are becoming thin.
Too-Lip - 14" x 12"

We organized a group to do art with fabric, we call it “Imagine That!” We meet once a month in local restaurants to issue the official challenge and see what’s been done since our last meeting. April in Skagit Valley is Tulip Tourist Time as almost everything revolves around the county’s Tulip Festival. The challenge was simple, a small piece with tulips. I made two, this is my favorite.
