Learning from Reynola - 51.5" x 52"
Second Circles - 33.25" x 33"

One of the first “different” classes I took was from Reynola Pakusich who has an interesting way of working with ethnic fabrics, especially Asian.  For some reason I’d been wanting to work with black and white prints which seemed a bit shocking  to the  teacher.

After completing the first quilt, I took the circles cut out from behind quilt 1 and made a next smaller version, using the same techniques but with a different background.  Many of the fabrics in both these quilts have faded into a peeked brown*.

(*Note: Some of the black pieces have faded, for which I received congrats one day at a trunk show for “adding some browns” to make it more interesting.)

This star quilt abides among my learning techniques pieces and truly annoys the quilt color police.

First art quilt class attended and the play began. The title is something that will always be important to me.

Next time I should add 10 inches to each direction, and better colors. Kids really like bright colors, and I love to doodle.

I'm baffled why people are confused about my color selections. Thus it will ever be.

I love taking class even now; learning doesn't stop for me. This little piece is just a sketch, but I like it, and it will inspire another piece some day very soon.
